Rafaela Salgueiro

Rafaela Salgueiro is a visual artist who works in a multidisciplinary way between the body, performance and matter to address themes of affection and sensitivity in an introduction to contact with other material realities. She has a degree in fashion design from Senac/São Paulo- BR, and a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Círculo de Bellas Artes – Madrid_ES. She works at the intersection of art, textiles and scenography, developing research related to the unconscious, affection and the potential transformation of materials. His latest works include the textile installation «Novas de afeto e sensibilidade – Uma preposição têxtil entre o tempo e espaço», winner of the exhibition program for emerging artists at the University of Coimbra | CAPC PT, 2023; the installation work «Choreographic Atlases», a project selected by the GULBENKIAN Foundation and exhibited at Grønbechs Gård- Bornholm’s Centre for Crafts, Copenhagen, DK, 2023, in collaboration with the artists Kantika Wissing and Barbara Cordeiro; Solo exhibition «Grão de areia plástico bolha», Galeria na Monta, Lisbon, PT 2023 with researcher Duda Affonso; Development of an interactive object for the performance «CALOR» by artist Josefa Pereira, Teatro do Bairro Alto, Lisbon, 2022.

In a multidisciplinar way I use techniques of photography, sculpture and textile design to find new linguistic possibilities between the body and the matter, to develop objects that encompass affectionand sensitivity in their movement with users
